I’m not sure if I’m allowed to make this joke, but here we go: If you think Jesus Christ himself is the only snack coming back this Easter, well, think again! For the season of revival, Easter Sundae M&M’s are officially back on the shelves. 

What do Easter Sundae M&M’s taste like?

Vanilla ice cream? Fudge? The sins of our past? Good guesses, but no, not quite. Historically speaking, these limited edition M&M’s “resurrect” every spring (dating back to 2016 AD) with this same flavor profile: a white chocolate center and milk chocolate outer coating. Based on public reception, it seems they don’t have a distinct flavor outside of a simple blend of mixed chocolate with muted notes of vanilla.

But this year, they’ve swapped milk chocolate for a delectable dark chocolate shell. I haven’t tasted them yet, but I’d wager this is a step in the right direction. It’s too easy to fall down the ice cream sundae rabbit hole of throwing every sweet ingredient in your pantry (sprinkles, oreos, maraschino cherries, gummy bears, fudge, caramel, etc.) into the bowl and regretting your life choices thirty minutes later. This more balanced combo of sharp, bitter dark chocolate and sweet, vanilla white chocolate will hopefully taste, well… divine. Heavenly, if you will. 

Where can you buy Easter Sunday M&M’s: White & Dark Chocolate?

Right now, you can find these at Target and Walmart. The Easter candy aisle may look intimidating with its rows upon rows of pastels, but these new M&Ms come in darker purple packaging, making them stand out from the crowd.
