The main menu (Japanese: タイトルメニュー title menu, also known as スタートメニュー start menu[1]) is the menu that appears right after the title screen in the core series Pokémon games from Generation I to Generation VII.
From Generation VIII onwards, the most recent save is automatically loaded after the title screen.
In Pokémon FireRed, LeafGreen and Generation IV, the main menu is hidden when there is no save; the player must first create a save file in order to access the main menu.

| Migrate from Ruby/Sapphire/ FireRed/LeafGreen/Emerald | Allows the transfer of Pokémon from the Generation III games. In the internal game data, these options are stored in this order (Ruby, Sapphire, LeafGreen, FireRed, and Emerald), even though only one option appears at a time (or none at all if no Generation III Game Pak is inserted).
